Jeffrey J. Keck has been a Member of the Illinois and Federal Bars since 1978, with practice focused in Business & Transactional Law, Business Formations & Planning, Real Estate Law & Transactions,  Corporate & Partnership Law, and Franchise Law for companies, ventures and individuals.  In addition, he offers targeted Business Succession Planning and Personal Estate Planning to executives, professionals, entrepreneurs and individuals. Mr. Keck has based his law practice in the Chicago Loop and  Metropolitan Chicago since 1978 to serve the legal needs of regional businesses. 

Before opening his law office in Woodstock, Illinois, Mr. Keck was in management of a $350 Million Publicly-Traded National Specialty Catalog and Multi-State Retail Company serving the needs of the outdoor enthusiast.  Prior to that, Mr. Keck practiced business law and planning in Lake Forest, Illinois. In 1983 he was a Founding Partner of the LaSalle Street law firm of Ham, Keck & Associates, Ltd., Chicago, where he specialized in entrepreneurial businesses and ventures, corporate and securities/investment law and business litigation for members of stock, futures and options exchanges.  Before founding Ham, Keck & Associates, Ltd., Mr. Keck was a Senior Associate in a Chicago Loop Law Firm serving investment companies, financial market professionals and entrepreneurs in corporate, securities, government regulatory compliance, and business litigation matters.

A graduate of St. Procopious College, Benedictine University  (B.A. Lit. & Comm. 1975), and The John Marshall Law School, Chicago (J.D. 1978), Mr. Keck was admitted to the Bar of the Supreme Court of Illinois in 1978 and the United States Supreme Court in 1982.  He was also admitted to the Bars of the US District Court, Northern District Ill.; US Court of Appeals, 7th Cir. Chicago; Trial Bar of the US District Court, Northern District Ill.; US Tax Court; and US Court of Appeals, 9th Cir. San Francisco.

 
Mr. Keck is the author of numerous articles on business law and corporate management, process improvement and corporate policy.  He is Counsel to National Franchise Operators, Professional Service Firms, Manufacturers, Builders, Technology Companies, Developers and Investors, and Not For Profit Organizations.

Mr. Keck is a past Chairman of the Board of Directors of the 1,000 member Crystal Lake Chamber of Commerce, Organizer and Charter Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Crystal Lake Chamber of Commerce Foundation, 2006 Crystal Lake Chamber Member of the Year, Past Chairman of the Strategic Alliance Group, a not-for-profit association of senior financial and business professionals,  past Member of the Woodstock Chamber of Commerce, sits on the Board of Directors of the 501(c)(3) not-for-profit Berkshire Ballet Theatre, the resident ballet company of the Raue Center for the Arts, outside General Counsel to Operation Click, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation promoting seatbelt use and driving safety among high school age drivers, a Member of the Centegra Health System Foundation Development Council Planned Gifts Committee, and sits on the Board of Directors of the Raue Center for the Arts, Crystal Lake, Illinois, where he is Vice President, past Treasurer Pro Tempore, and current Chairman of its Governance and Human Resources Committees.
